供应Tempered glass (also known as toughened glass) is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal treatments to increase its strength compared to normal glass. It is widely used in applications where strength, thermal resistance, and safety are critical.
Key Characteristics:
High Strength
Tempered glass is 4–5 times stronger than annealed (standard) glass of the same thickness, making it resistant to impacts and bending stresses.
Safety Performance
When broken, it shatters into small, granular pieces with blunt edges (instead of sharp shards), significantly reducing the risk of injury. This is why it’s classified as "safety glass".
Thermal Resistance
It withstands sudden temperature changes up to 200°C–250°C, making it ideal for applications like oven doors, fireplace screens, and building facades.
Manufacturing Process:
Glass sheets are heated to approximately 600–700°C and then rapidly cooled (quenched) using high-pressure air jets. This procereates surface compression and interior tension, resulting in enhanced mechanical strength.
